[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: So this is Senate Health and Welfare. We're back on May 12 and looking at what we hope is the final draft of H-nine 38. So maybe Katie, show us that language that you just better enhanced. So this is now draft 6.1. Since you've last seen the draft a half hour
[Katie (Legislative Counsel)]: ago, now has this new paragraph that is specific to fiscal year twenty seven. And says that in fiscal year twenty seven, eligible households utilizing GA emergency housing and a hotel or motel during the previous fiscal year shall not be subject for a visa of the seventy day limit established in this bill until the eligible household's twelve month anniversary of their fiscal twenty sixth application. So, that means is if there is a household that is currently in GA emergency housing and the program transitions to the continuum on 07/01/2026, the let's say they use thirty five days in April and May. Those thirty five days count towards the seventy days until we come around to next April, May when their personal clock resets. Meaning that not everybody resets 07/01/2026. If people are currently in the program, they reset on the anniversary of their initial application.
[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: So that we talked about last week.
[Katie (Legislative Counsel)]: We did, but then there was language that was added and removed over the weekend. So now I'm back in. Okay.
[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: Okay? Okay. So we went through the bill this morning. Does anyone have a question for Katie or wish to look at any other sections of the bill? Okay. You vote if you could vote pending edits. It's out of the edit, yeah. So We are. We are a lot. Senator, is there a senator who would like to make a motion? I do move to approve of pending ends of two of eight nine thirty eight to 2.1. Eight at five twelve twenty six. Nothing's ever perfect in everybody's eyes, but sometimes having things with Gulick and all imperfect with everybody agreeing it's imperfect is not a bad thing. This has been difficult because the house did work for a long period of time, longer than we had on the bill and that but we have been looking at this as well with H 91 last year. Well, it's not all, you know, that's a couple of these people who have been helping out very much. Appreciate it. So any further discussions? All right, Senator Clerk?
[Michelle (Committee Assistant/Clerk)]: Senator Benson? Yes. Senator Cummings? Yes. Senator Hewlett?
[Senator Martine Larocque Gulick]: Yes. Senator Morley? No. Senator Lyons? Yes.
[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: 50. 4. Oh, thank you. Until you turn five.
[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: Did you want to explain your vote or not? I thought they're not.
[Katie (Legislative Counsel)]: Okay.
[Michelle (Committee Assistant/Clerk)]: Who's going to report that?
[Senator Virginia "Ginny" Lyons (Chair)]: I'll report, but I'll be calling on other members unless someone else wishes to be lead on us. Okay, and we'll have a fiscal note from home. Good, thank you. So, on S-two thirty nine, we'll just have to keep you posted on what the differences are. We may pass over it today on the calendar. Michelle, remember this was the language that came back. It was the wrong language. We approved the wrong language. I asked to have my vote reconsidered and we're going to look at the right language that's now come to us from the house. It was a technical error in getting it over to us. So we'll look at what we have. I I don't think it's significant. I think it's just a couple of the appointments on the child abuse and neglect working group. Just a couple of changes there. Should be good. And, committee, thank you for all your heavy lifting on September.
