[Presiding Officer (President of the Senate)]: Will come to order. In lieu of a devotional today, we will have a moment of silence. Thank you. Are there any announcements? Senator from Bennington.

[Senator Seth Bongartz (Bennington)]: Mister president, I moved that the committee on education be relieved of H five thirty two in act relating to mandatory retirement of college professors and that the bill be committed to the committee on economic development, housing, and general affairs.

[Presiding Officer (President of the Senate)]: Thank you. Beautiful. Senator from Bennington has moved that the education committee be relieved of H532 and that it be committed to the committee on economic development. Are you ready for that question? If so, all those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. All those opposed, nay. The ayes have it and you have committed H532 to the Committee on Economic Development. We have two bills for referral. Senate bill two zero six, s two zero six being on the calendar for notice and affecting the revenues of state under rule 31 is referred to the committee on finance. Senate bill s 43 two forty three being on the calendar for notice and carrying an appropriation under rule 31 is referred to the committee on appropriation. We have one house bill for reference. H898, which was submitted to the House of Representatives, passed the House of Representatives on February 13, has come to us. And please listen to the first reading of the bill.

[Senate Secretary (Clerk)]: H eight ninety eight, an act relating to copper based to fiber based telecommunications network transitions and consumer protections.

[Presiding Officer (President of the Senate)]: Now the bill's been read the first time and is referred to the committee on finance. There are no orders of the day, but we've received, h 790 back from the house, which informs us that they've refused to confer in the senate proposal of amendment and have appointed a committee of conference. On behalf of the committees, the committee on committees, the following senators are appointed to the senate committee of conference, senator Perchlik, senator Lyons, senator Westman. And with that, I would look for a motion from the senior senator from Chittenden Southeast.
