[Speaker 0]: Will senate please come to order? Our devotional exercises will be conducted by the reverend Ken Zan of the Sheoshen Temple of East Kalis. Welcome.

[Reverend Ken Zan (Sheoshen Temple of East Kalis)]: Thank you all for your service to the well-being of the state of Vermont. With deep gratitude for each of you and for everything that supports you in being of service. With gratitude for your constituents, the residents of Vermont, those who voted for you, and even those who didn't. All of them contributing to your being here today. With gratitude for the influences in your life that inspired you towards public service, perhaps parents or teachers or mentors, perhaps public figures who you admired, All of them a part of you being here today. With gratitude for this State House building, those who designed it, built it, and those who now maintain it, making it possible for us to be here today, warm and dry in this magnificent Senate chamber. All of it, a part of us being here today. With gratitude for what made it possible for us to get here this afternoon, cars, fuel, roads, plow trucks, and plow drivers who cleared the way. With gratitude for what gives us the physical strength to work, the food we eat, the farms and farmers who grow it, the cooks, stores, and suppliers, and those who transport it to us. All of it, a part of us being here now. With gratitude for the land, this beautiful state of Vermont with its mountains and lakes, forests and streams. Natural beauty that inspires and refreshes us and is the ground on which we stand. All of it a part of us being here. With gratitude for what gives and sustains our life, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the sun that warms, and the great mystery of which we are all a part. All of it contributing to us being here together in this moment. With gratitude for you, with gratitude for your public service to the state of Vermont, with gratitude for everything that supports you in your service, the vast web of interconnection.

[Speaker 0]: the shape? Well, I I am not sure you're supposed to ask questions you know the answer to. The the answer is no, but I think most of us recognize the esteemed person you're referring to.

[Senator Tanya Vyhovsky (Chittenden Central)]: I would I I thank you, mister president. I I would suggest that betting on me knowing something is not usually a good bet. Second of all, I I take that, and I will not recognize former senator Douglas or senator White. Former governor Douglas. Thank you.

[Speaker 0]: Are there any further announcements? Seeing none, we have six appointments which we received from the governor and which are now being referred to the committees having jurisdiction. These appointments will appear in today's journal, which you will receive tomorrow. We now have Senate bills for introduction for reference. Senate Bill S 23 enact relating to miscellaneous agricultural subjects introduced by the committee on agriculture. Listen to the first reading.

[Senator Andrew Perchlik (Washington)]: maximum allowable in this bill, you can buy one of these for $1,200 conveniently matched there and if if you wanted one with a battery in addition to it, that is gonna run you about $2,500. Thank you.
