[Chair Martin LaLonde]: Hi. Good morning, everyone, and welcome to house judiciary. Going to be looking at an amendment to h four ten, an act relating to the calculation of recidivism and other related criminology measures. And we have Trevor Squirrel here, representative Squirrel here from the appropriations committee to present the amendment.

[Representative Trevor Squirrell]: Good morning. Representative Trevor Squirrel from house appropriations. This is really quite simple. The bill that you presented to us had the $25,000 appropriation going to the Vermont Statistical Center. We don't fund the Vermont Statistical Center directly. It has to go through an agency or department. And we determined that the Department of Public Safety was the appropriate department to get this appropriation and then enter into a contract for these reports. That's the amendment.

[Chair Martin LaLonde]: Any questions?

[Representative Trevor Squirrell]: I was gonna make a joke about objecting, but no.

[Chair Martin LaLonde]: I wasn't gonna take this a step further, but for the sake of time and and and keeping things moving, I wanna take a straw poll on on this amendment. Although, we yeah. We don't need to do anything other than take a straw poll. So all those in favor of this amendment? All those opposed? Great. Thank you, Trevor.

[Representative Trevor Squirrell]: Thank you.

[Chair Martin LaLonde]: You us. You made us.

[Representative Trevor Squirrell]: So Also, fifth we'll start actually in favor. Six zero high. Well

[Chair Martin LaLonde]: done, Zachary. We'll for go a couple minutes till we get our other witnesses back for h six fifty seven. Yep.
