[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Welcome to House Education on March 19, correct me if I'm wrong. Committee is March 20, thank you. The committee has not yet voted on the two amendments that were presented yesterday. Herb Brown and Rep Brady tried to see how they might be able to be mushed together into one, but ultimately decided that it works better as two. And so that's why we're gonna vote up with two now. I think they came away with a recommendation of favorable and fully support that. So I think that frankly, the sort of lived experience of the folks who came in here and kind of provided us with some testimony, I think it helps the bill be better. I particularly was struck by that sort of Especially when we sort of talk about what a superintendent may excuse. Lists are hard. This is what happens. I think we probably have a better list. All right. So, Chapin's amendment, this is just a straw poll. All those in favor of finding it.

[Unidentified Committee Member]: Question first. We're not submitting

[Unidentified Committee Member]: some new just leaving them as they were

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: As as they were.

[Unidentified Committee Member]: Any changes from what we looked at yesterday.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Yeah. And part of this is, you know, sort of get having good simplicity on

[Unidentified Committee Member]: the floor. Scott here. Wanna make sure what I'm voting on before I vote.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Thank you. And I didn't mean to say That's alright. Official, but just raise your hand if you straw poll in favor. Looking good. All right. Representative Burroughs' amendment was the second one, and I think that's order in which they're gonna be taken up. Just heard. It's been

[Unidentified Committee Member]: taking changes from yesterday. Correct.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: All those in favor of supporting or finding that amendment friendly as well? Hands up. All right. Our work is done here. So we will adjourn and head to the floor.
