[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: To questions, but I just wanna state at the outset, once again, this is not about sort of science behind the PCB testing program. This is about the fact that there is a looming deadline that everybody has to be tested and there's no funding for the testing or in case of finding something, the remediation. This can certainly be revisited at whatever point the administration rekindles its interest in this issue and appropriates money for it or the legislature. So I just wanted to say this is my attempt to avoid potentially large unfunded mandate. It's not about the science, it's not about the health, all of which could be a debate for another time with people with bigger brains than me. So any questions before we

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: When you do a vote like this, sorry, I know I did them last year, but can you do it with explanation or is that really just a floor thing?

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: You could right now say, here's how I'm gonna vote and here's why, if you would like. Okay. Yes.

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: Can I just clarify a question on, didn't we vote for legislation last year or the year before to pause it because there's no money? So is there really a deadline? Yes. Because we were we we did

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: that in the house. Did didn't House in the Senate. Through the senate. The the 2027 deadline is still there. Yeah. We've got it, but they Right.

[Emily Long (Member)]: Yeah. I've forgotten about

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: that. Yeah.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: There was still money attached. We still had some money in the bank at that point. So we, just for pharmaceutical, to date invested 35,000,000 and then whatever was moved over in last year's budget, I think it's another 9.

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: Just under 9. China has sex. That's just made my decision much more difficult. Right? Just vote on

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: it. Second to last. That's way. Exactly.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Any other further clarifying questions? Allow representative Taylor to talk to.

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: I'm gonna stress it until I say a word.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Gonna be the last over there with the restaurant.

[Emily Long (Member)]: I'm having

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: sunshine based.

[Emily Long (Member)]: I'm happy to make a comment not just to help, because I actually am taking this really seriously too, and it's very hard. And I recognize why everyone's agonizing over this, because we care about the health and safety of our children and our staff. And it is very unfortunate we're in this post. And I'm going to vote yes, but it doesn't make me happy to do it.

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: Would agree.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Well said. I I think that you speak for all

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: of us with that with that comment. Yes, Leland? I'd like to say yes. I'm going to vote yes after speaking with you, and I spoke to a couple of people that are on school boards, and I have had a few emails, so I'm going to vote yes on this. I think you're the best route to take.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Alright. Clerk, why don't you call the roll?

[Unidentified Speaker]: Alright. So motion to

[Unidentified Speaker]: find h five forty two favorable.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: I'm the reporter. You're reporter, okay. What's up, somebody else would like to. Thank you. No, thank you. You've trying to fight for 80 for years now.

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: You don't want to miss this. Rep Brady? Yes. Rep Brown? Yes. Rep Dobrovich?

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: Yes.

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: Rep Harple? Yes. Rep Hunter? Yes. Rep Long? Yes. Rep McCann? No. Rep Morgan?

[Leland Morgan (Member)]: Yes. Rep

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: Quinby? Yes. Beth Taylor? No. Beth Conlon?

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Yes.

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: Great, ten-two.

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: Thank you all very much for paying attention to this issue, thinking about it seriously. And while we are in a lighthearted mood right now, I think Representative Long is right on the money that is not to sort of shortchange the seriousness of the issue, but it is really about funding or go funding.

[Jana Brown (Clerk)]: Great. Let

[Peter Conlon (Chair)]: me
