[Alice M. Emmons (Chair)]: It's between a straw vote and a regular vote. Can we do a roll call for a regular vote straw vote? Raise your vote. Welcome, folks. This is House Corrections and Institutions Committee. It is Friday, May 8. And we are meeting quickly just to do some preliminary work on a couple of bills that have passed the Senate, some of our bills are coming back to the House for us to make a decision. So the first one we're gonna talk about is age five fifty nine, the parole board. The Senate made some changes to our language, nothing really different in terms of the work we did, but they did add on a piece about victim notifications, in the process of folks going through the parole proceedings, that it is an opt out in terms of the victim's side to opt out of any notification. It's up to the victim to make that determination. And it came as a request from the victim notification task force work that happened. So we've had the presentation of the Senate version. So what's before us is, do we concur with the Senate proposal of amendment? Do we not concur with further proposal of amendment? Or do we not concur and ask for our conference committee? It's up for committee discussion. Second. It's been moved and seconded that we concur with the Senate proposal amendment. Any further discussion? No. We're just going to a straw vote. Thank you. Any further discussion? If not, all those in favor, please raise your hand. All those opposed. The vote is ten-one. And all you need to do is just talk about the victim notification piece. That will be up Tuesday morning. The other bill is our capital bill, whatever that number is. I don't even know what the number is. 955952. Nonsense. Yeah, well, we heard a report. Well, we heard it from our alleged counsel, and I think we're pretty well aware there are some changes in there. And there is a motion that we do not concur with the Senate proposal and ask for a conference. I second that. And you second that. Is there any further discussion? If not, all those in favor, please raise your hand. All those opposed. So it passes on a ten zero one. I will be the one making that those intro that information on the floor on Tuesday. We hope that I have the conference committee with you, some of your favorite folks. Know. I know. It'll be fun. Wait. You're gonna report the straw poll vote on the No. We take care of the parole I take care of the conf I take care of the cap. The reporter of the bill takes care of it. And hopefully we will see supervisory fees over here. That's your bill. Telecom, hopefully that kicks out. And then gender equity, hopefully that kicks out. That will be Gina. So we've got two other bills dangling over there. Okay? So we're anticipating Katie to come in and walk us through our strike call amendment to sections five and seven of S 193.
