[Rep. Gina Galfetti (Member)]: Very light.

[Rep. Alice M. Emmons (Chair)]: Okay, welcome back, folks. This is Texas Parks and Institutions. It is Thursday, April 16. We're quickly meeting to pick up where we left off right before lunch. And I think there's been some discussions, and then I'm gonna turn it over to the folks. Okay.

[Rep. Gina Galfetti (Member)]: So before we left, I had made a motion to vote on two fifty two, and while we were on recess for the past hour and a half, I spoke to people that had been supporters of the bill, and we think that it would be more appropriate to wait until January 27 to take a vote on this potentially, or start the process to then get to a place to take a vote, because this isn't the final end all version of this, but something has to change. So with that, and just having the gracious conversations that I did, I will respectfully withdraw my motion to vote on February, but I hope that we really do stand firm and that we take thoughtful testimony next year, regardless of who's on the committee, and that we're committed to getting this issue through. So with that, I will withdraw.

[Rep. Alice M. Emmons (Chair)]: Is there a second?

[Rep. Gina Galfetti (Member)]: I'll withdraw.

[Rep. Alice M. Emmons (Chair)]: Well, Gina has withdrawn a second. I'll withdraw my second. You will. Any further discussion? Thank you. So the motion is finalized. So that completes our work for now, for today. We're due back out on the floor. We're gonna have a long afternoon. Are planning on coming back at 08:30 tomorrow morning, which is different for us on Friday, but we're trying to reschedule the Department of Mental Health so we can finish those conversations on S-one Hundred 93. Also, want to bring the committee up to speed that the four chairs, Martin, Theresa and Alice M. And I met Tuesday morning at 11:30. There was a whole conversation I heard with Theresa. They did have a walk through of S 193 and there's some real concerns up there but getting in corrections and then Eric McGuire is really he's pretty clear that this is not appropriate to house folks. Yep. Corrections. Heard a little bit of it. She mentioned it a little bit to me, but, so that's all I know. Eric has worked a lot with corrections. So we're back here at 08:30 tomorrow morning and hanging there this afternoon. It's going to be a long afternoon with lots of minutes. So let's go out the
