[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: You're on. There. I apologize for pause. Wait a wee, okay. We're

[Chair Robin Scheu]: back live and we're going to finish up our legislative testimony and we have with us representative Maxlite and Bennington, you're organized, we will get started.

[Rep. James Masland]: Give me a minute. Okay. You call up my script. How are you? I don't envy you your job, but as we know, that's what we do here.

[Chair Robin Scheu]: So you'll need to speak a little louder so we can hear you at the center, but we have a blower down here, rep Maslin, so it's hard to hear you.

[Rep. James Masland]: Right. It holds you up. K. It's technology. You know? Be nothing but little pink messages that would float around the belly.

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: No. It's not that.

[Rep. James Masland]: Alright.

[Chair Robin Scheu]: Wanna try to talk to us without it or are you

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: being Well, I gotta see what I'm supposed to say. Hold on a second.

[Rep. James Masland]: I'm here to talk about conservation districts. It's preamble, I've been involved with conservation districts for a long time, since way before I was a legislator. And as you know, they are basically, I think if I've got this right, subdivisions of of NRCS and other sorts of things. And their their function, basically, similar to RCNDs, which may not be around anymore, is to link, state resources, individuals, and resource excuse me, environmental needs around around state and and regions. And their primarily primary function is the RC and Ds is basically to serve as a conduit from from, ideas from regions, to up to agriculture and beyond, hopefully linking to federal resources so that how do we put this? So that so that we can collect the connect the top, bottom, and so that they function critically. And what they what they do that's important is, basically, they're a communications function between between regions, region conservation districts, and resources greater we should say greater than themselves. And in that respect, they they build a vital function, I think, very clearly. As we understand, it's all about communication here. You know, getting the right ideas to the right people at the right time so that they can be properly resourced whenever it's possible. And I got twenty three seconds to tell you. But, basically, that's that's it. Without things like like conservation districts, the communication doesn't work, and the spark doesn't jump from from one lead to the other. And so I really hope that you continue funding resource conservation districts and other similar things. And I've got two seconds, so there we go.

[Chair Robin Scheu]: If you want to submit the written testimony when you find it, send

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: it to I can do that, happy to do that. That would be great. And thank you for squeezing me in. Thank you, we appreciate it. Went on about several other things, but

[Rep. James Masland]: I didn't sign up for those.

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: Write it up. Are done

[Chair Robin Scheu]: with the considered public hearing, and we thank all the legislators that came in, other people who weren't here or ran out of time want to send us written testimony.

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: We're welcome to do that.

[Chair Robin Scheu]: And

[Committee Staff (unidentified)]: so
