Will the clerk please call the drive test? The member is sustained, and the question is when the everyone at ease for a moment. Will the house please come to order? The member is sustained, and when the vote is taken, it will be taken by roll. The question is, shall the bill pass in concurrence? Member from Barrie City.
[Representative Edward "Teddy" Waszazak]: Madam speaker, I just wanna make a comment about this underlying bill. We just had the amendment, and, it would have given protection, and now it does not. And I would highly recommend that the body does not support this bill as it does not provide the protection that is needed that VLCT has requested for multiple times. Specifically, thinking about the protections that are in this bill that can be, like I said, driven through with a freight train. If you fail to meet those specific requirements, you're on the hook. And and I just don't think putting municipalities in that that position is is a is a good idea. When we want to reduce our salt, we should be doing everything that we can to make that an easy process or protecting our municipalities. Thank you.
[BetsyAnn Wrask (Clerk of the House)]: And the question is, shall the bill pass in occurrence
[Representative Jill Krowinski (Speaker of the House)]: in concurrence? Are you ready for the question? Member from Esme Cole.
[Representative Esme Cole]: Thank you, madam speaker. I'd just like to remind the body that the bill is voluntary for municipalities. Municipalities are already doing this with no protection, and some municipalities are not. In the future, if this were to pass, municipalities would still be voluntarily choosing to do this program or not. And if they did do the program, they would have increased liability protections. Thank you.
